This wacky item comes from the good people in the Duke Libraries Preservation department, via Yvonne:
Please join the Preservation Department in celebrating the first annual Edible Book Festival at Duke on March 31, 2006, from 2-4pm in the Tower Reading Room. What on Earth is this you ask? It’s a festival celebrating books by making them out of food. The festival has been around since 1999, but this is our first time participating. More information and inspiration can be found at the festival’s home page:
You can also get more information on the intranet or at our festival’s web page:
http://library.duke.edu/events/edible-06.html
We will hold a silent auction for those wishing to purchase any of the entries with all proceeds going to the Library (Flannery) Memorial Fund. Anyone who works at the library is eligible to participate, all are welcome to the party.
If you are interested in participating or have questions, please contact me. We hope to see you there.
Happy Binding!
