I received an email recently from SAGE, an announcement that they’re launching a new journal: the Journal of Mixed Methods Research.
The editors seek empirical research studies across the social, behavioral, health, and human sciences that employ mixed methods research, and methodological manuscripts advancing knowledge about mixed methods research. Mixed methods research is defined as research in which the investigator collects and analyzes data, integrates the findings, and draws inferences using both qualitative and quantitative approaches or methods in a single study or program of inquiry.
Vary cool; you know I’ll be following that one.
Anyway, I mentioned this to Yvonne, & she thought I said the Journal of Mixed Message Research. What would that journal be like? We used the blah methodology, but then we didn’t. Our findings indicate X, but not really. Future research is required, maybe.
