Once again, Fred has saved my bacon. Apparently I was hacked by a bot that exploits un-upgraded WordPress installs, & it changed my stylesheet & database. In one of Fred’s multiple emails to me last night, he wrote:
Actually, I think what’s happened is that it has changed the db structure so that clicking on links in the blog essentially re-hack the db. This is nasty.
Zounds. Fred, my hero, thinks he’s blocked the request so the db won’t get changed again. Not like he doesn’t have enough of his own work to do. At any rate, I’ll be upgrading WordPress within the next day or two, as soon as I have the time, given that the semester starts today & I barely have time to be writing this. But I wanted My Beloved Audience to know why the radio silence recently. Anyway, expect more radio silence in my near future.
